Work with your school to make a difference

When parents are involved in their children's education, kids learn more.  But it's often very hard for parents to find time to get involved.

If you want to get involved in your child's school, but can't seem to find time, you're not alone.  These suggestions may make participation easier for you:

Offer any time you have available to volunteer. Even if you only have one hour a week to spare, most schools can put that to good use.
Let the principal or teacher know of your time problems. There may be evening or weekend projects you can get involved in.
Attend parent-teacher conferences. This shows your child that school is important to you.
Also keep in mind that you can get involved with your child’s education right at home. You’re helping
your child learn when you read together, quiz him before a test or even when you cook together.
